Services
I provide outpatient psychiatric services that cater to the unique needs of adults aged 18 and older, including individuals that are senior adults, college students, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodiverse, peripartum, and/or health care professionals. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and supported.

I provide services in person at my office and virtually through HIPAA-compliant Zoom.
Overview of Treatment
01
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is a chance for me to get to know you. I ask you to complete a thorough intake form prior to the appointment so the first session feels less like data collection and more like a conversation. By the end of the consultation I will offer preliminary impressions and suggested treatment options.
02
Diagnostic Evaluation and Treatment Planning
During the second appointment, we continue the intake by evaluating your diagnosis/diagnoses or areas of concern in greater depth, if needed. I may ask you to complete some questionnaires before the second session to help me get a better picture of who you are. Then we will start to discuss your treatment goals and what treatment modalities to use to achieve these goals.
03
Follow Up with Ongoing Monitoring
Based on your treatment plan, we will decide how frequently you should follow up and what type of follow up would work best for you:
-
medication management
-
medication management + therapy
-
therapy only
I utilize measurement based care for most of my patients to get feedback on how you are doing. We revisit your treatment plan frequently to make sure we are on target for meeting your goals.
Types of Treatment
Medication Management
Medication can be a useful tool to help when you are suffering but always needs to be part of a broader treatment strategy. My medication recommendations are evidence-based. The decision to take a psychiatric medication must be a collaborative one where taking medication aligns with your values. My major role is educational. I take the time to discuss how medication works and review the risks vs. benefits of medication with my patients. Sometimes people stay on medication long-term, but other times they come off after they are stably feeling better. I have experience both initiating and discontinuing psychiatric medications.
Psychotherapy (including Safe and Sound Protocol)
I have extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and this heavily influences my therapy style. I am also well versed in motivational enhancement therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness techniques. My approach is also influenced by polyvagal theory and internal family systems theory.

I also offer treatment with the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), which is an evidence-based listening therapy based on polyvagal theory that helps to retune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration, and resilience. Learn more about the SSP here.

Measurement Based Care
Measurement based care (MBC) utilizes routine, standardized assessments to help engage patients in care and inform treatment decisions. MBC significantly improves outcomes. I make MBC easy for you by utilizing a secure phone app that syncs to the medical record.

*A note on autism spectrum disorders: I consider myself an advocate of the neurodiversity movement. As such I do not "treat" autism. However, I recognize that autistic people face unique difficulties AND just like anyone else can suffer from addiction and psychiatric disorders. I also realize that autistic people may react differently to psychiatric medications. I welcome autistic adults to my practice and take your autism into consideration without letting it define you.
